The need for a shift in perspective towards the National Assembly has been highlighted by members of the House of Representatives. It is surprising how even the elected representatives of the National Assembly are not being given due attention. The members of the National Assembly are elected from various regions and local levels across the country.
Efforts are being made to strengthen the importance of the National Assembly. It is being suggested that the President and Prime Minister should have the authority to nominate and appoint members of the National Assembly. This calls for constitutional amendments. Recently, a member of the House of Representatives likened the National Assembly to an “old age home,” sparking commentary.
In particular, the National Assembly is seen as a place where experienced individuals in politics reside. It is crucial to not misinterpret the significance of the National Assembly. Just as questions are raised in the House of Representatives reflecting public concerns, the same should be done in the National Assembly.
Certain aspects of the Constitution are deemed crucial and remain unfulfilled. This emphasizes the importance of implementing all aspects of the Constitution. Failure to address issues during the constitution-making process may lead to challenges when implementing them later on.
The ability to implement the provisions of the Constitution depends on the implementation of certain topics while others may require further elaboration. To address weaknesses and ambiguities in the constitutional process and to bring about timely changes in accordance with the will of the people, it is necessary for active political parties in parliament to agree on constitutional amendments.

Political parties must unite for the country’s development. Unlike the past where political parties united for regime change, now they must come together for the nation’s progress. Political bickering is not conducive to progress.
Ramesh Khatri further emphasizes the need for economic empowerment as the primary goal for the country. The country must first become self-reliant. His role in enforcing laws and advocating for public issues in parliament is vital. Legislation alone is not sufficient; attention must also be drawn to public concerns and government actions.
