The Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as ‘Prachanda,’ has expressed the party’s ongoing commitment to establishing the rights of marginalized communities, including those in the Madhes region.

Speaking at a public meeting organized in Sonigama, Hamsapur Municipality in Dhanusha on Sunday, Dahal emphasized the party’s role in addressing the grievances of the Madhesi community. He highlighted the formation of the Madhesi National Liberation Front, practical implementation of federalism, inclusive representation, and prioritizing the development of the Madhes region as pivotal roles played by his party.

Dahal stressed the party’s unwavering determination to fulfill the demands of the Madhes region and mentioned Maoist Center’s commitment to expedite the construction of the Hulaki Rajmarg for the region’s development. He specifically acknowledged local support for the swift construction of the Kamala Bridge and emphasized his party’s endorsement of the demand.

The Maoist Center, under Dahal’s leadership, has been actively engaging in the “door-to-door campaign” to understand the sentiments of the people. During the event, the party’s leader, Matrika Prasad Yadav, reaffirmed the party’s unwavering integrity towards supporting the Madhesi community.

In response to this news, Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, views Dahal’s statements as a positive step towards addressing the needs and aspirations of the marginalized communities in Nepal, especially in the Madhes region. He appreciates the Maoist Party’s focus on inclusive development and representation, considering it crucial for the overall progress and unity of the nation.
