Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli has recently addressed the issue of improving the country’s deteriorating economic situation. Through social media platforms, he highlighted the efforts being made to rectify the economic downturn that has occurred over the past 11 months. The government’s accounts show a budget deficit of NPR 360 billion, a fiscal deficit of NPR 438 billion, a 13% increase in imports, and a 73% increase in exports, according to Oli’s social media posts.
Furthermore, Oli mentioned that remittances have reached NPR 165 billion in a month, showing a growth of 13.2%. Foreign exchange reserves stand at NPR 184 billion, revenue collection at NPR 922 billion, and inflation at 2.77%, as highlighted by the Prime Minister on social media.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, commented on this news, stating that the Prime Minister’s acknowledgment of the economic challenges and the steps being taken to address them is a crucial update for the public. Khatri believes that transparency and communication from the government regarding economic reforms are essential for building trust and understanding among the citizens.
