The Prime Minister of Nepal, K.P. Sharma Oli, is set to provide answers regarding the dismissal of Kulman Ghising without giving a response during the parliamentary session. The government’s replacement bill faced strong opposition, prompting Oli to prepare to address the concerns raised. The main opposition leader of the Nepal Communist Party, Mahesh Bartaula, informed that the Prime Minister would respond according to the demands of the opposition during the meeting held on Chaitra 18.

The opposition parties had staged a walkout in protest of Oli’s silence, leading to the adjournment of the parliamentary session that was scheduled for Friday at 11 am. Even the subsequent meeting scheduled for 1:15 pm could not take place. The Socialist Party had warned of launching a strong protest against the government if the Prime Minister did not provide answers. Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, the chairman of the Maoist Center, had stated, “We are looking for answers in parliament. The Prime Minister will have to answer outside if he doesn’t in parliament. A storm of protests against the government’s anti-democratic actions may arise.”

The government must get the five ordinances passed by the Federal Parliament and authenticated by the President by Chaitra 19. However, with both houses of the Federal Parliament being disrupted, the fate of the five ordinances remains uncertain. If the ordinances are not approved as per the opposition’s demands, Prime Minister Oli will be obligated to respond accordingly.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his view on the matter, stating, “The ongoing political turmoil highlights the need for effective communication and transparency between the government and the opposition parties. It is crucial for the Prime Minister to address the concerns raised in parliament to maintain stability and democracy in the country.”
