The Trishul Army Club faced defeat at the hands of Province 2 in the Prime Minister Cup Men’s One-Day National Cricket Tournament. The match, held at the Deukhuri Cricket Ground in Dang, saw Province 2 clinch victory by three wickets, marking their second win in five matches.

Batting first, the Army set a target of 218 runs, which Province 2 successfully chased down in 48 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Province 2’s captain Anil Kumar Sah contributed 45 runs, Harishankar Sah scored 38, and Pawan Sarraf added 36 runs to secure the win. Rupesh Singh remained not out at 38 runs.

In their innings, the Army had scored 217 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Bhim Sarki top-scored for the Army with 89 runs. Santosh Karki made 33 runs, and Kushal Mall scored 24 runs. Pawan Sarraf, Kamal Gupta, and Rupesh Singh took 2 wickets each for Province 2, while Ranjit Kumar claimed 1 wicket.

The competition, which commenced simultaneously at the Siddhartha Cricket Ground in Rupandehi and the Extratek Oval Ground, is being played in a round-robin format based on the points table. The tournament, consisting of 14 matches, is scheduled to continue until March 16 in Dang.
