“Prime Minister’s Cup Women’s National T20 Cricket Tournament Title Awarded to EPF”

In Dhangadi, the Prime Minister Cup Women’s National T20 Cricket Tournament was recently won by APF Club after a thrilling final match against the team from Sudurpashchim Province. This victory marked APF’s consecutive second title in the tournament. Along with the championship, APF also secured a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakhs, while the runners-up from Sudurpashchim received Rs. 3 lakhs.

The final match saw APF achieving a target of 68 runs in 12 overs with the loss of one wicket. Mamtaz Chaudhary of APF scored an unbeaten 43, with captain Indu Barma contributing 18 runs before being out. Previously, Sudurpashchim had batted first and managed to score 67 runs in 18 overs, with Mamata Bohara scoring 18 and captain Vindu Rawal adding 17 runs, while other players failed to make significant contributions.

On the bowling front, APF’s Kavita Joshi took three wickets, while captain Indu Barma and Savnam Rai each took two wickets. Joshi was named the ‘Player of the Match’. Additionally, in the overall competition, APF’s captain Barma, who scored a personal total of 72 runs and took five wickets, was honored as the ‘Player of the Series’.

Mamata Chaudhary, who scored 209 runs for APF, and Manisha Upadhyay, who took 10 wickets for Bagmati, were recognized as the best batter and best bowler, respectively. The ‘Player of the Series’ received a prize of Rs. 50,000, while the best batter and best bowler each received Rs. 25,000.

The tournament, which commenced on Magh 1, witnessed the participation of 12 teams. The event was organized by the Nepal Cricket Association and managed by the Sudurpashchim Regional Cricket Association, as per the National Sports Council’s program.

The final match was attended by officials including Chatur Bahadur Chand, President of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), Roshan Singh, Vice President, Deepak Bahadur Singh, Secretary of the Sudurpashchim Sports Council, and Vasudev Joshilagayat, President of the Sudurpashchim Regional Cricket Association, along with the presence of players.
