The progress of the National Pride Sun Koshi Marine Diversification event, organized by the Parliamentary Committee for Development and Technology, has been deemed unsatisfactory. During a meeting held by the committee on Wednesday, it was concluded that the details of the progress of the event so far have not been satisfactory, prompting a decision to conduct a detailed study related to the project documents.
Committee Chairman Dipak Bahadur Singh announced the decision to further analyze the project’s energy, water resources, and irrigation aspects in relation to the lackluster progress. He stated, “We have observed only a 1% progress in the event. Discussions were held during the meeting to identify the reasons behind this slow progress.” Singh emphasized the need to gather more information from relevant ministers and to request additional documents from the organizers for further study.
Moreover, the meeting directed the government not to delay the appointment of a project chief for the National Pride event. It was noted that, to date, the appointment of a project chief has not been finalized even after nine months. The contracting company for the event is reported to be Raman Construction Pvt. Ltd.
In response to this news, Ramesh Khatri, representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed concern over the sluggish progress of the event and urged the government to take swift action to ensure the successful implementation of the National Pride Sun Koshi Marine Diversification project.
