The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has announced its decision to hold a demonstration in the prohibited area on the 7th of Baisakh. This decision was confirmed by the party’s Working Committee meeting chaired by President Rajendra Lingden. The party is demanding the restoration of the monarchy and the release of their leaders, with plans to hold protest gatherings in 77 districts.
According to Lingden, the decision to demonstrate in the restricted area on the 7th of Baisakh was made in response to the government’s constraints on basic rights by prohibiting demonstrations in that area. He emphasized the peaceful nature of their demonstrations in the restricted area.
In a related development, the meeting also decided to demand the release of party leaders Ravindra Mishra and Dhawal Shamsher Rana, who were arrested following the incidents in Tin Kune on the 15th of Chaitra.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his opinion on the situation, stating that while it is important for political parties to exercise their rights to protest, it is crucial to ensure that such demonstrations are conducted peacefully and in accordance with the law to prevent any potential escalation of tensions.
