The Supreme Court has issued a temporary interim order in the name of public transportation entrepreneurs to refrain from shutting down public transportation services to avoid strikes. The order was issued by Justice Nityanand Pandey on Wednesday, emphasizing the need to prevent disruptions in public transportation services that directly impact citizens.
The court will now analyze both sides regarding whether to grant continuity to the temporary order or not. This decision comes in response to a petition filed by advocate Vimal Pokharel in the Supreme Court, highlighting the violation of citizens’ constitutional rights by public transportation entrepreneurs.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, stated that the court’s intervention is crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of public transportation services and protecting the rights of the general public. He emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law and ensuring that citizens’ rights are safeguarded amidst any disputes between stakeholders in the transportation sector.
