Janakpur: The Madhesh government has undergone a restructuring of its cabinet. In the newly reformed cabinet, Vasanta Kumar Kushwaha and Sanjay Yadav from the Janmat Party took their oaths of office and secrecy on Thursday.
On Thursday evening, Pradesh Pramukh Sumitra Suvedi Bhandari administered the oath of office to the two newly appointed ministers. Kushwaha has been entrusted with the responsibility of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism, while Yadav has been given charge of the Ministry of Forests and Environment.
Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh has overseen the restructuring of the cabinet. According to Article 168 (9) of Nepal’s Constitution, the new cabinet now consists of 12 members.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his opinion on this development, stating that the regular restructuring of the cabinet reflects a commitment to inclusive governance. He added that the new ministers should be wished a successful term.
Previously, Kushwaha had served as the Minister of Agriculture in the provincial government. Yadav, on the other hand, had held the position of a State Minister.
The spokesperson for the Janmat Party, Dr. Sharad Singh Yadav, explained that this restructuring was part of a regular process within the party and extended best wishes to the new ministers for a successful tenure.
It is worth noting that both ministries were previously held by members of the Janmat Party. The party had recalled Industry and Tourism Minister Sakil Mia Ansari and Forest and Environment Minister Tribhuvan Sah, replacing them with new appointees due to internal dissatisfaction.
In light of the discontent among recalled ministers, the party made the decision to reassign them within the party itself.
This move to restructure the cabinet reflects the government’s efforts to enhance governance and address internal concerns within the party.
