Nepal’s Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba has stated that the Nepalis stranded in Iran due to the Israel-Iran conflict will be rescued with the support of the Indian government. He revealed that 16 Nepali nationals in Iran have requested assistance, prompting him to appeal to the Indian government for help. Minister Rana emphasized the positive response from the Indian government towards this matter.
In response to the situation, Minister Rana expressed, “There are Nepali individuals in Iran. When rescuing their citizens, I have also requested the Indian government for help. We have faith that India will provide a positive response.” This highlights the collaborative efforts between Nepal and India in times of crisis.
Nepal’s ambassador to India, Dr. Shankar Sharma, also stressed the importance of continuous communication and coordination with the Indian government for the rescue of Nepali nationals. The Indian Embassy in Tehran is actively involved in the process of rescuing its citizens and has issued information for Nepalis to establish contact.
Furthermore, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lok Bahadur Khatri, mentioned that coordination and communication are ongoing with the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Tehran for the rescue of Nepali nationals in Iran. This underscores the diplomatic efforts being made to ensure the safe return of Nepali citizens.
