In a recent development, Ukrainian officials have reported that Russia carried out approximately 150 drone strikes across various regions in Ukraine on Saturday night. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, out of the team of drones, 57 were shot down while 67 drones were rendered inactive electronically.
The drone attacks resulted in the loss of one life in the Pahlohrad city of the Dnipropetrovsk region, where a 14-year-old girl tragically lost her life. Additionally, two individuals were injured in Odessa and Zhytomyr regions due to the attacks. In the city of Kherson, a Russian aerial assault led to four civilian casualties, as reported by the local mayor.
The Russian Defense Ministry has claimed to have successfully neutralized drone attacks conducted by the Ukrainian military in the Bryansk border region and Crimea. The mayor of Horlivka in the Donetsk region disclosed that five individuals were injured in an attack carried out by Ukrainian artillery.
Furthermore, US President Donald Trump expressed his concerns regarding the ongoing conflict, stating that President Putin does not seem to desire an end to the war. Trump emphasized his disapproval of recent civilian casualties caused by Russian military actions in social media posts.
During the funeral service of Pope Francis held in the Vatican, Trump engaged in a brief conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky upon returning to his country. This exchange marked their first direct meeting in recent times.
A senior Kremlin official hinted at a prolonged resolution process for the Ukraine conflict, suggesting that talks may take an extended period to progress. President Zelensky has accused Russia of not being committed to peace but rather creating illusions of a ceasefire.
