Kathmandu – The Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Teertharaj Bhattarai, who was taken under control by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), has been granted temporary release for the time being. Bhattarai submitted his documents on Wednesday evening, as informed by sources close to the authority.

Even though Bhattarai was released on Wednesday, he is required to be present at the authority on Friday. He was accused of being involved in human trafficking by setting up a ring and sending Nepalis to various countries. The authority had taken him under control on Wednesday afternoon for investigation.

The authority team had raided the Immigration Office at Tribhuvan International Airport. Subsequently, Bhattarai, who was present there on duty, was taken under control. The authority source revealed that computers and various devices from the office were taken under control.

Bhattarai, who holds a key position at the airport, was only detained by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday.
