“Shankar Pokharel’s Critique of Prachanda’s Unbalanced Expression”

Kathmandu – The General Secretary of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Shankar Pokharel, has criticized the recent remarks made by the Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party – Maoist Center, Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, during a parliamentary meeting, describing them as divisive. The comments were made public by Pokharel on social media platform Facebook late Thursday night. In his post, Pokharel expressed concerns about the lack of unity within the party leadership, especially in light of the upcoming legislative session.

This development comes at a crucial time for the NCP, as internal disagreements and rifts have been surfacing within the party. The NCP, formed through the merger of the CPN-UML and CPN-MC in 2018, has been facing challenges in maintaining cohesion and a united front.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, believes that the public airing of internal party disputes could potentially weaken the NCP’s political standing and affect its ability to govern effectively. Khatri emphasizes the importance of party unity and cohesion in order to address the numerous pressing issues facing Nepal, both domestically and internationally.
