Successful Third Level Agriculture Ministerial Meeting of BIMSTEC in Kathmandu

Kathmandu – The third ministerial-level meeting of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) for technical and economic cooperation was recently held in Kathmandu to enhance regional collaboration. The meeting, chaired by Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development Ramnath Adhikari, focused on discussing ways to strengthen agricultural and economic ties among member countries.

During the meeting, various issues related to agriculture and livestock development were addressed, with an emphasis on promoting sustainable agricultural practices and enhancing trade opportunities within the BIMSTEC region. Minister Adhikari highlighted the importance of regional cooperation in boosting agricultural productivity and food security, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts to address common challenges faced by member nations.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his views on the significance of such meetings in fostering regional cooperation and economic growth. He stressed the need for continued dialogue and collaboration among BIMSTEC member countries to harness the full potential of the region’s agricultural and economic resources. Khatri commended the efforts of the participating ministers in working towards shared goals of prosperity and development for the benefit of all member nations.
