The upcoming fiscal year 2082/83 budget has been a topic of discussion at the top level of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (NCP). The party has been deliberating on making the budget more people-centric and addressing public concerns.

During a discussion held among the top leaders of the party at the central office in Lalitpur, Dr. Bishnu Adhikari, the Secretary of the NCP central office, shared insights about the discussions on the budget. He mentioned that besides the party president and prime minister, all members of the central office were supposed to participate in the meeting. The focus of the meeting was to make the budget more people-centric, with an emphasis on production and resolving public issues as suggested by the party leaders.

Dr. Adhikari highlighted that in a previous meeting held on the 21st of Baisakh, due to a lack of time, suggestions could not be provided by all members of the central office. Hence, the discussion on the budget was scheduled for today.

According to Dr. Adhikari, the party leaders had suggested that the budget should prioritize agriculture, industry, development, and self-reliance to uplift the country. The meeting was attended by senior vice-chairperson Ishwar Pokharel, vice-chairpersons Yuvaraj Gyawali and Vishnu Prasad Poudel, Surendra Pandey, Ram Bahadur Thapa, Ashtalakshmi Shakya, Guru Baral, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali, Prithvi Subba Gurung, Vishnu Rimal, joint secretaries Lekhraj Bhatta and Chhavilal Vishwakarma, Yogesh Bhattarai, Gokarna Bista, Raghuvir Mahaseth, and Padma Aryal.
