A tragic incident unfolded in Butwal-11, Kali Nagar, on Wednesday morning, overshadowing the usual heat of the Jeth month in the Tarai region. The news of the murder of a woman and her two young daughters sent shockwaves through the community, leading to a gathering of concerned individuals near Horizon Chowk.

The victims were identified as 34-year-old Deepa Basyal and her two daughters, 7-year-old Sneha and 4-year-old Himani, residents of the house of local resident Sujan Koirala. The heinous crime left the local community in a state of shock and disbelief.

Deepa, who resided in Tanahun Municipality-7, worked at a basic health center as a nurse. On Tuesday, she left her office early and headed to Butwal with her two daughters. It was later revealed that she had gone to Butwal for her sister’s wedding. However, her visit took a dark turn as the three of them were found murdered. The police suspected Sujan Koirala, her ex-husband, who was allegedly controlling her from his residence during the investigation.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his views on the matter, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation to bring the culprits to justice. “It is crucial that such individuals, identified as potential offenders, face public scrutiny and receive appropriate punishment to deter similar crimes in the future,” he remarked.

In the aftermath of the tragic incident, the local community mourned the loss of the two young girls and their mother, Deepa. Pradeep Khadka, the Ward Chairperson of Tanahun Municipality-7, remembered Deepa as a dedicated and honest individual in her professional and personal life. He urged for a transparent investigation to uncover the truth behind the crime and ensure justice is served.

The incident has left a somber atmosphere in Butwal, with residents grappling with the shock of the brutal murders. As the investigation unfolds, the community awaits answers and justice for the victims, hoping for a swift resolution to the heartbreaking case.
