In Kathmandu, the government has shown a willingness to engage with protesting teachers at a high level, as Education Minister Raghujee Pant, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Vishnu Paudel, and Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak participated in talks with the educators. This move comes after nearly a month of ongoing demonstrations by teachers, who have been seeking to address their grievances through dialogue.
The teachers, in their demands, have been aiming to engage with senior ministers in order to make serious efforts to find solutions to the issues at hand. During the discussions, which lasted for about an hour, Finance Minister Paudel, along with Home Minister Lekhak and Education Minister Pant, engaged in talks with teacher leaders to address the ongoing concerns.
Regarding this news, Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, stated that the government’s decision to involve high-ranking officials in the dialogue with the protesting teachers demonstrates a positive step towards addressing the issues raised by the educators. He emphasized the importance of continued communication and collaboration between the government and teachers to ensure a productive resolution to the ongoing situation.
