In Kathmandu, the chairman of the National Democratic Party, Rajendra Lingden, has stated that he could become a key figure in the royalist movement after being arrested by the police during the Rajawadi movement. Lingden made these remarks during a discussion with journalists on the subject of the Rajawadi movement organized by Rappal on Chaitra 26.
Emphasizing the need for peaceful demonstrations and expressing concern about violence and lawlessness affecting his future, Lingden highlighted the importance of unity among party leaders to strengthen the movement. He called on supporters of the Congress, UML, and Maoists to actively participate in civil disobedience and non-cooperation movements to advance the cause.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his opinion on the matter, stating, “Lingden’s call for unity and non-violent protest is crucial in fostering a peaceful and successful movement. It is imperative for supporters of various political parties to join hands for the betterment of the nation.”
Lingden also warned about the potential for state-sponsored violence and urged caution by informing thousands of volunteers about the preparations for upcoming demonstrations. He stressed the importance of actively engaging in protests while carrying the party’s flag to show solidarity and commitment to the cause, rather than resorting to violence or disruptive activities.
