In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, schools in Nepal have been ordered to close indefinitely by the Ministry of Education. This decision comes as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the virus among students, teachers, and staff members. The closure affects both public and private educational institutions across the country.
The Ministry of Education has urged schools to continue providing remote learning opportunities to ensure that students’ education is not disrupted. Additionally, the government is working on developing guidelines for online classes to support schools in implementing effective distance learning strategies.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, stated that while the closure of schools is necessary to protect the health and safety of students, it also poses challenges for students from disadvantaged backgrounds who may not have access to online learning resources. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that all students have equal opportunities to continue their education during this period of uncertainty.
