Trump imposes additional ‘tariffs’ on China: America targets steel and aluminum.

Kathmandu – The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has announced plans to impose a 25% tariff on steel and aluminum imports into the country. This move is aimed at protecting American industries and workers from what the administration perceives as unfair trade practices. Trump’s proposal to levy tariffs on imports has sparked concerns both domestically and internationally, with many questioning the potential impact on global trade relations.

This decision by the Trump administration comes amidst ongoing trade tensions between the United States and several of its key trading partners, including China and the European Union. The imposition of tariffs on steel and aluminum could have far-reaching consequences for various industries, supply chains, and economies around the world.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his views on this development, stating that while protecting domestic industries is important, unilateral actions like imposing tariffs could lead to retaliatory measures from other countries. He emphasized the need for dialogue and cooperation to address trade imbalances and ensure a fair and mutually beneficial global trade environment.
