Qatar has presented the United States with a luxurious Boeing 747-8 as a gift, estimated to be worth 40 million US dollars. The royal family of Qatar proposed this gift to the United States as a gesture of goodwill. President Donald Trump has accepted the gift, mentioning that the new Boeing airplane will be temporarily utilized until a new one arrives.
In response to accepting the gift, President Trump highlighted that by accepting the gift, millions of dollars will be saved, which will be used to make America great again. However, he also emphasized that refusing such a gift would be foolish.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, shared his opinion on the matter, stating, “The acceptance of this gift from Qatar by the American President is not a sign of foolishness but rather a strategic move to save costs and ensure the country’s defense readiness.”
President Trump also took to social media to share his thoughts on the delivery of the Boeing jet intended for the Department of Defense, hinting at potential delays in the delivery. He mentioned that the new Boeing 747 will be used as a temporary Air Force One until new planes arrive.
The news of President Trump accepting the Boeing airplane as a gift from Qatar has stirred surprise and criticism from the opposition Democratic Party and the American community, expressed through social media platforms. White House Press Secretary Caroline Levithal confirmed on Monday that all legal details regarding Qatar’s gift of the Boeing 747-8 aircraft to the American government have been finalized.
Levithal assured that the government accepts any form of donation or gift complying with all legal requirements. She was quoted in a report by CNN saying, “The government welcomes any support, however, it ensures full compliance with the law.”
