Siraha Police arrested two Indian nationals along with a pistol. The incident took place in Bariyarpatti Rural Municipality-1 on Monday, where the police stopped a motorcycle without a number plate heading towards India. District Police Office Siraha’s Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Veerendrakumar Paswan, provided details of the arrest.
According to Paswan, the motorcycle driver, 19-year-old Rajiv Singh from Bharat Madhubani, and the passenger, 19-year-old Prince Singh, were apprehended. The police seized a small pistol tucked into Prince’s waistband along with a bullet during the arrest.
The suspects are currently under police control, and the District Court in Siraha has extended their detention by five days for further investigation.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed concern about the increasing trend of illegal weapons and cross-border crimes in the region. “This incident highlights the need for enhanced border security measures to prevent such activities,” Khatri stated, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies of neighboring countries to maintain peace and security in the region.
