Two individuals tragically lost their lives in a heartbreaking incident that unfolded in Kamikatsu, Tokushima Prefecture. The incident occurred when a teenager found themselves in distress while swimming in a river. In a selfless act of bravery, an 18-year-old man and a 42-year-old man jumped into the river in an attempt to rescue the teenager. Despite their courageous efforts, both men ultimately succumbed to the strong currents and drowned.
