Siddharthanagar Municipality-5 in Rupandehi district witnessed a police operation on Wednesday, resulting in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of cash amounting to NPR 1.35 million. The detainees, identified as 38-year-old Dinesh Waniya and 35-year-old Pinki Waniya from Ward No. 7 of the municipality, were apprehended by law enforcement authorities.

The police, acting on information, intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number Lu. 68 Pa. 479 from Rupandehi, wherein they discovered the significant sum of cash and detained Dinesh, the rider, along with Pinki, who was a passenger on the motorcycle.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter to ascertain the source and purpose of the confiscated cash. Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his views on the incident, stating that such police actions are crucial in maintaining law and order and preventing illegal activities in the region.

The police have not disclosed further details regarding the case, but it is expected that more information will be revealed as the investigation progresses.
