Two young men were apprehended on Wednesday along Prithviraj Marg in Tanahu’s Ambukhairani Rural Municipality-4, Benitar, with a pistol, according to the police. The arrested individuals have been identified as 32-year-old Vijay Tiwari from Gauri Nagar, Madhyamanchal Municipality-7 in Chitwan and 25-year-old Milan Dhakal from Harkapur, Beshisahar Municipality-12 in Nawalparasi Bardaghat Susta.

The seizure took place during the inspection of a motorcycle with license plate number Na 28 Pa 1519, imported from America, which had a pistol with 771 bullets. The police recovered one magazine and one round of ammunition.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Ashok Thapa revealed that the pistol, along with the two young men, was found hidden in a bag carried by Dhakal, who was riding the motorcycle. Further investigations are ongoing regarding this incident, as stated by the police.

Ramesh Khatri, representing Kansai Nepal News, expresses concern over the escalation of arms-related crimes in the region. “Such incidents highlight the need for enhanced security measures and stricter regulations to prevent the illicit possession of firearms,” Khatri emphasizes.
