In Tanahun, under the Prithvi Highway, two youths were arrested on Wednesday with a pistol in Aambukhaireni Village Municipality-4, Benitar. The arrested individuals were identified as 32-year-old Vijay Tiwari from Chitwan Madhyam Nagarpalika-7, Gauri Nagara, and 25-year-old Milan Dhakal from Nawalparasi Bardaghat Municipality-12, Harkapur.
According to the police, the two were apprehended during the inspection of a motorcycle with the registration number Na 28 Pa 1519 coming from Muglin towards Aambukhaireni. The police discovered a magazine and a pistol along with live ammunition inside a bag carried by one of the youths riding pillion on the motorcycle.
Sub-Inspector Ashok Thapa informed that further investigation is underway regarding the seized motorcycle and the illegal weapons. Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed concern over the rising incidents of illegal arms possession among the youth in the region. He emphasized the need for enhanced security measures to curb such activities and ensure public safety.
