“United Nations Development Finance Conference Starts for Global Development”

The fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, organized by the United Nations, began today at the Feria de Madrid exhibition center in Spain. The conference aims to bring together leaders from around the world to discuss financial strategies for development.

Among the prominent figures attending the conference are Nepal’s Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli, world leaders, government heads, and representatives. The opening session featured speeches from Spain’s King Felipe VI, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

During the inauguration, Prime Minister Oli was accompanied by his chief advisor Vishnu Prasad Rimal, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amrit Bahadur Rai, Nepal’s Permanent Representative to the UN Lok Bahadur Thapa, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Protocol Chief Mahapal Kumar Kharel.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his view on the conference stating that it is a significant platform for discussing global financial structures and long-term support for sustainable development. He emphasized the importance of international cooperation in achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

The conference aims to focus on improving global financial structures and addressing the challenges of immediate and long-term support for sustainable development. It will also explore issues such as sustainable development, financing, technology transfer, and investment to advance global development goals.
