KATHMANDU – Vidya Bhandari, who recently rejoined the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), has submitted a request to the Ministry of Home Affairs to reinstate the facilities provided to former presidents. Bhandari’s office secretary informed that the request was made today to reinstate the services that were revoked by the government. The services include house rent and vehicle facilities, which were previously provided by the government office. The government has agreed to provide house rent and security personnel for two of Bhandari’s personal secretaries.

The Ministry of Home Affairs spokesperson, Ravindra Acharya, confirmed receiving Bhandari’s request. He mentioned that apart from security, other facilities are set to be reinstated soon as per the effective date mentioned in the application.

Furthermore, Bhandari disclosed during an event organized by the Madan Bhandari Foundation on July 14 that she has renewed her membership with the Communist Party and is now a member of the party’s family. She is also actively preparing to lead from the front in the upcoming party convention.

Representative of Kansai Nepal News, Ramesh Khatri, views Bhandari’s move as a strategic step towards solidifying her position within the party and positioning herself for a leadership role in the upcoming party convention. He noted that her efforts to reinforce her ties with the party and increase her political activities indicate a strong determination to take on a more prominent role within the party’s leadership.
