The President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chandra Dhakal, has revealed preparations underway for a major project involving entrepreneurs from 77 districts coming together. This initiative, established during the third executive meeting held in Dhorpatan last year, aims to support investments in hydroelectricity and tourism and provide assistance to projects facing challenges.
Emphasizing the crucial role of the communication sector in strengthening the country’s economy and promoting self-reliance, President Dhakal expressed the vision of creating an investment-friendly environment and disseminating positive messages through communication materials.
During an event organized by Dhorpatan Daily for the release of the 2082 calendar, President Dhakal highlighted the necessity of increasing youth employment through investments in tourism and hydroelectricity. He mentioned that the Chamber had initiated a major project worth 10 billion last year to facilitate this goal.
President Dhakal also noted the government’s recent efforts to create an investment-friendly environment, attributing the move to the increasing interest of foreign investors in Nepal. He stressed that while foreign investments may boost employment opportunities, it is essential to convey a positive message globally.
Regarding the government’s agenda to reduce interest rates, eliminate black market practices, and fulfill global economic obligations despite the ongoing economic crisis, President Dhakal expressed optimism that the impact of the worldwide economic downturn may be mitigated. He highlighted the importance of supporting entrepreneurs facing capital shortages by creating new ideas and projects.
Ramesh Khatri from Kansai Nepal News appreciates President Dhakal’s proactive approach towards fostering a conducive environment for investments and promoting economic growth in Nepal. He commends the emphasis on innovation and collaboration to support entrepreneurs during financial challenges.
