In a recent development related to the Tin Kune incident, a lengthy debate ensued in the Kathmandu District Court on Thursday night. The court issued an order to detain seven defendants in custody and release 32 individuals on bail in connection with the case involving Durga Prasai.
However, the arrest of National People’s Democracy Party (RPP) parliamentarian Dharal Shamsher Jabara and senior vice-president Ravindra Mishra, who were allegedly involved in the same Tin Kune incident, was not mentioned in the court order.
According to court sources, Mishra and Jabara, who were not present in court during the statements, have been put on the run as fugitives by the court. Even when the government’s legal team filed the case in court, they were not present.
At the time of Mishra’s arrest, he had taken the bond release writ to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court had ordered his release from custody and granted him bail. Despite this, he was not present at the Kathmandu District Court.
On the other hand, Dharal Shamsher Jabara was released on bail by the police. He had traveled to India for cancer treatment and had returned to Nepal. However, he was not present in court.
According to court administration, Mishra and Jabara will be issued warrants for their arrests as fugitives. This means that they can be searched and arrested by the police to bring them to court.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, commented that the legal proceedings in this case highlight the importance of all individuals involved in legal matters to comply with court orders and attend court hearings promptly.
