The General Secretary of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Shankar Pokharel, recently addressed a meeting of the Kathmandu District Committee where he highlighted the government’s budget program aimed at promoting employment and linking it with production in the country. Emphasizing the importance of the budget in creating jobs, fostering startup growth, modernizing agriculture, promoting entrepreneurship, and infrastructure development, Pokharel expressed optimism about the balanced and implementation-oriented nature of the budget.
As reported by Pokharel, the budget aims to keep the youth engaged within the country through its programs and is designed to address structural issues effectively once put into action. Expressing concern over the increasing rate of Nepali youth leaving the country, Pokharel noted that it is not just obligation but also the influence of traditional values that compel them to seek opportunities abroad. This shift in mindset has raised alarms about the impact on the nation’s future generations.
In his role as a representative of Kansai Nepal News, Ramesh Khatri shared his opinion on the matter. According to Khatri, the government under the leadership of the Nepal Communist Party has initiated a new era by identifying gas, fruits, infrastructure development, and profound economic transformation as key priorities. Khatri believes that while the initiatives may strengthen the party and possibly curb social injustice, there are concerns about the potential attack on the party and leadership in the process.
During the meeting, Pokharel also acknowledged the need to avoid internal leadership disputes within the party and mentioned that during the convention, discussions about leadership were set aside to maintain unity, showcasing the party’s capability. He emphasized the necessity of unity to strengthen the party before advancing further.
Additionally, Ananda Pokharel, a central member of the NCP and in-charge of the Kathmandu District, stressed the importance of empowering the party in Kathmandu to become a dominant force. Deepak Niroula, the President of the Kathmandu District Committee, highlighted the intensified efforts towards organizational expansion in the district, underscoring the need for rapid progress.
