Nepali Congress leader and Member of Parliament Dr. Shekhar Koirala has expressed concerns about the trade and economic policies being pursued by the United States, stating that they pose a significant risk that could surpass even the Third World War. He emphasized the need for Nepal to align its thinking accordingly.
Speaking at an event in the capital on Saturday, Dr. Koirala warned that the current policies of the United States could potentially plunge the global economy into a severe crisis. He urged Nepal to be prepared to stand firm on its own stance and take necessary steps to move forward in the face of such risks.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, shared his opinion on this matter. He noted that Dr. Koirala’s warning about the serious implications of the US policies on the world economy is a matter that should not be taken lightly. Khatri highlighted the importance of staying vigilant and proactive in the current global economic scenario.
According to reports from Nepal News Bank, Dr. Koirala also cautioned against any laxity in amending the constitution, stating that any delays in addressing issues could lead to public discontent and protests. He stressed the need for the government to take the constitution amendment seriously and not overlook any delays that could potentially lead to unrest.
Dr. Koirala further emphasized that with a two-thirds majority government in power, there has been an increase in corruption and impunity in the country. He called for strict control measures to be implemented to address these issues and urged the Nepali Congress to closely monitor the government’s performance to ensure accountability and transparency.
