KATHMANDU – The recent destructive flood in the Bhotekoshi River has caused significant damage in Rasuwa, Nepal. The flood washed away the Miteri Bridge connecting Kerung in Nepal to China, leading to 18 individuals being reported missing. Among those missing are 9 Nepali citizens, 6 Chinese citizens, and 3 security personnel involved in the rescue efforts.

The exact cause of the flood that resulted in the devastation along the Bhotekoshi River remains unknown. Currently, the floodwaters in the Bhotekoshi River are receding gradually, providing some relief to the affected areas. However, the extent of the damage caused by the flood is still being assessed.

In light of this tragic event, Ramesh Khatri from Kansai Nepal News expressed his concern about the lack of preparedness and proper infrastructure to deal with natural disasters such as floods in Nepal.
