Israeli forces carried out a recent aerial attack in the northern Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of at least four individuals, as reported by Palestinian medical sources. The attack, conducted using military drones in the city of Beit Hanoun, led to the killing of two Palestinians, according to health officials in Gaza.

The Israeli military had been observed engaging in suspicious activities near military installations in northern Gaza, raising tensions among the local population. Additionally, reports from local sources and eyewitnesses indicated that the airstrikes originated from the eastern Beit Hanoun area, displacing hundreds of families.

In another incident, following an Israeli bombing in the town of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, a medical team discovered the body of a woman and provided treatment to two injured individuals. Tragically, a young man lost his life during an attack on his home in the city center.

Israeli authorities have not commented on the events in Khan Yunis and Rafah. This incident occurred just one day after the end of the first phase of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. The initial ceasefire phase, lasting from January 19 to March 1, involves the release of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails and the return of Israeli captives.

As the first phase of the ceasefire progresses smoothly, discussions for the second phase have commenced. Both sides have agreed to refrain from any further attacks, continue supplying humanitarian aid, and maintain the release of prisoners. Israel is set to release over 1,000 Palestinians in exchange for 33 Israeli captives, with the Israeli army withdrawing to a distance of 700 meters.

The third phase will focus on rebuilding the devastated Gaza Strip following Israeli attacks. Reconstruction efforts are projected to begin within 3 to 5 years, aiming to restore normalcy to the region. In the process, the bodies of deceased prisoners will also be repatriated in areas under Israeli control.

Opinion from Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News: “The ongoing conflicts in the Gaza Strip are deeply concerning, and the loss of civilian lives is tragic. It is imperative for all parties involved to prioritize peace-building efforts and work towards sustainable solutions to prevent further suffering and destruction in the region.”
