Kathmandu – The Youth and Sports Minister, Tejulal Chaudhary, has faced challenges in organizing the tenth National Sports Competition as his ministry did not receive the allocated budget and the Finance Ministry cut 25% of the budget earmarked for sports. This move has raised concerns about the successful execution of the sporting event.
The National Sports Competition is a significant event that promotes sportsmanship and talent among the youth in Nepal. However, with the recent budget cut, the preparations for the event have been hindered, leading to uncertainties about its smooth conduct.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his opinion on the matter, stating that the government’s decision to slash the sports budget could have negative implications on the development of sports in the country. He emphasized the importance of adequate financial support for sporting events to nurture talent and promote a healthy sports culture in Nepal.
