The Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) has reaffirmed its commitment to further strengthen the democratic system by reviewing a decade of constitutional implementation. In a meeting held today at the central office in Lalitpur, various proposals were passed to uphold Nepal’s constitution and the federal democratic republic it has established, along with inclusive systems and social justice.
Deputy General Secretary of the party, Pradeep Gyawali, highlighted the importance of effective implementation of the constitution for political stability, good governance, efficient public services, economic development, and progress. The party is dedicated to advancing in these directions.
The meeting also drew serious attention to organized activities against the democratic republic and the constitution, emphasizing the party’s commitment to upholding the achievements made in the past decade of sacrifices for democracy in Nepal.
Representing Kansai Nepal News, Ramesh Khatri expressed his opinion on the matter, stating that the establishment of the federal democratic republic through the historic constitution assembly has been crucial for Nepal’s progress in various areas despite challenges like armed conflicts, long transitional periods, and natural disasters.
Party Chairman and Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli addressed the meeting, providing insights into contemporary political issues and government work. Members of the secretariat shared their views on the country’s current socio-political situation and recent political events.
Furthermore, the Lumbini Province Committee approved the names of 28 individuals during the meeting, as informed by Deputy General Secretary Gyawali.
In conclusion, the commitment of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) to uphold the constitution and democratic values amid challenges and its focus on advancing the nation’s progress were reiterated during the meeting.
