Two individuals have been arrested by the police on charges of defrauding people by promising lucrative jobs abroad. The arrested individuals have been identified as Rohan Lama, 32, from Ramche, Kathmandu-6 and Uttam Khadka, 29, from Sankhuwasabha Khandbari Municipality-3.

Lama allegedly sent 45 victims to countries like Lithuania and Romania, extracting a total of NPR 18,093,000 from them. On the other hand, Khadka is accused of defrauding one victim of NPR 200,000 by promising a job in Serbia. The victims reported that they lost contact with the suspects after paying the money.

The arrests were made by the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police-10 on Friday for Lama and by the Kageshwari-Manohara Municipality-8 police on Sunday for Khadka. The suspects have been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment for further investigation and legal action.

In response to the incident, Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed concern over the rise in fraudulent activities related to foreign employment. He emphasized the need for stricter regulations and enforcement to protect individuals seeking opportunities abroad.
