Around 20 students who were studying at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Odisha, India, have returned to Nepal via the Kakarbhitta border checkpoint in Jhapa.
These students had left for Nepal from KIIT since last Falgun 6th, and as of this morning, they have all arrived back in Nepal, as confirmed by Jhapa District Police Office spokesperson, Inspector Vijay Chauhan. “Two students have yet to return,” he stated, “the rest have already reached their destinations.”
Among the returning students are Sulav Poudel, 20, from Pokhara-8; Ayush Adhikari, 20, from Kathmandu-10; Samim Poudel, 21, from Lalitpur Mahalaxmi-4; Akash Sah, 20, from Kathmandu-13; Puyush Sah, 20, from Kathmandu Gokarneshwor-7; and Bikesh Shrestha, 20, from Kathmandu Gokarneshwor-7.
Additionally, students like Aarti Rohi, 20, from Rajbiraj-2; Salimi Das, 21; Risk Singh, 20; Ayus Raj, 20; Prajeet Yadav, 20; Rakesh Sah, 20; Kris Das, 21; and Navin Mandal, 20, have also returned.
Furthermore, other students returning include Omprasad Poudel, 21, from Sunsari Inaruwa-1; Aditya Mishra, 21, from Morang Viratnagar-12; Keshav Gohibar, 22, from Saptari Bhairahawa-2; Shubham Keshi, 23, from Kathmandu Ichhamu-1; Rishabh Jha, 23, from Makwanpur Hetauda-2; and Arushi Singh, 18, from Jaleshwar-12, Mahottari.
Ramesh Khatri, representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his view on this news, stating, “The safe return of these students is a positive development, and it reflects the coordination between the authorities in Nepal and India during these challenging times.”
