In Dhanusha, Nepal Police have apprehended an individual who was allegedly involved in fraudulent activities while claiming to be a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Dhanik Lal Sah from Siraha Municipality-2, was captured by the local police office in Dhalkebar, as informed by the Police Inspector Jatashankar Yadav.
According to Yadav, Sah had reportedly defrauded Ramesh Shrestha from Ganeshman Charanath Municipality-4 by claiming to be a DSP in Nepal Police and swindling him of NPR 50,000 in cash. The arrest was made based on a formal complaint lodged by Shrestha, stating that Sah had deceived him under the pretense of being a police officer.
Yadav further disclosed that Sah, upon being detained, was presented before the district court on charges of fraud, where his remand period was extended for further investigation. The authorities are conducting additional inquiries to delve deeper into the case and gather more evidence related to the alleged fraudulent activities.
