The Chairperson of Ward No. 3 in Baglung, Karnbahadur Bhandari, has been found dead under mysterious circumstances. His body was discovered in a ditch near his home on Wednesday morning around 11 am. Local residents alerted the police after spotting the body lying in a wooded area.
Upon receiving the report, the authorities swiftly responded to the scene. The district police office in Baglung informed that the body has been recovered and is currently under investigation. Deputy Superintendent of Police, Vijay Yadav, shared that a team led by Sub-Inspector Vishnuprasad Sharma from the Tarakhola Police Post, along with additional personnel from Galkot, are conducting further inquiries and legal procedures at the site.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed concern about the situation, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind Bhandari’s untimely demise. “This incident has shaken the local community, and it is imperative that justice is served to bring closure to this tragic event,” Khatri remarked.
Bhandari was elected from the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre) during the local elections held in 2079 B.S., adding a layer of political significance to the unfolding events. As the investigation progresses, the community awaits answers and seeks justice for the deceased Ward Chairperson.
