A big earthquake hit parts of Saitama and Tochigi prefectures in Japan on Thursday morning. It measured 5.3 in magnitude, but luckily, no tsunami warning was issued.
The quake was felt across the Kanto region, with Ibaraki Prefecture feeling it the most.
No major problems were reported at the nearby nuclear plant in Ibaraki, and there were no power outages, except for a temporary one that affected the Tohoku Shinkansen train.
It’s a good reminder to be prepared for earthquakes and to stay safe if one happens again.
