The Indian Embassy in Nepal has organized the inaugural edition of the ‘Indian Ambassador’s Cricket Tournament 2081′ at Tribhuvan University’s cricket ground in Kathmandu. The four-day friendly sporting event was inaugurated in the presence of the Indian Ambassador, the Secretary (South Asia) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the British Ambassador to Nepal.
Six teams are participating in the tournament, including representatives from the Indian Embassy, the Nepalese government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the British Embassy, the Foreign Correspondents’ Association of Nepal, corporate sector representatives, and the Indian diaspora community in Nepal.
The opening match of the tournament was held between the Indian Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Such friendly competitions are expected to strengthen diplomatic ties, enhance international community relations, and solidify the bond between the diaspora and locals in Nepal.
Representative Ramesh Khatri from Kansai Nepal News views this initiative as a positive step towards fostering stronger diplomatic relations and promoting cultural exchange through sports. He believes that such events not only promote goodwill but also create opportunities for networking and collaboration among different communities.
