The team of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has apprehended a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Rupandehi with a sum of 30,000 Nepalese Rupees as part of an alleged bribery case. The incident took place at the Hatiya Ban Gai (Durgauliya) Police Post in Rupandehi, where the active DSP, Khim Bahadur Khadka, was caught red-handed with the bribe amount.

The CIAA, which is responsible for investigating and prosecuting corruption cases in Nepal, has been actively working to curb corruption and misconduct within government agencies. This recent arrest highlights the ongoing efforts to tackle corruption at all levels of authority in the country.

In a statement regarding the incident, Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, emphasized the importance of holding individuals in positions of power accountable for their actions. Khatri applauded the swift action taken by the CIAA in apprehending the DSP and underscored the need for transparency and integrity in law enforcement agencies to maintain public trust and uphold the rule of law.
