On Monday, President Ramchandra Poudel approved and signed into law various bills that had been passed by both houses of the Federal Parliament in Nepal. This move marks the formal ratification of five bills.
The President’s office spokesperson, Shailja Regmi Bhattarai, issued a statement today announcing the bills’ ratification in accordance with Article 113, Clause 2 of the Constitution. The bills cover amendments related to administrative improvement, public service enhancement, cooperative relations, economic activities, financial responsibilities, and privatization.
Among the bills approved are amendments to the Economic Act of 2076, aimed at enhancing the economic and business environment, as well as amendments to the Privatization Act of 2050 to promote financial growth and investment. Additionally, bills related to economic activities, financial responsibilities, and privatization have also been ratified.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, commented that the ratification of these bills is a significant step towards modernizing Nepal’s legislative framework and fostering economic development. He emphasized the importance of these amendments in streamlining administrative processes and improving the overall public service delivery in the country.
