In a thrilling match held at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Nepal Police Club emerged victorious over Province 2 by 193 runs in the Prime Minister Cup Cricket Tournament. The match saw Nepal Police Club setting a target of 289 runs for Province 2, who unfortunately could only manage to score 95 runs in 26.1 overs before being bowled out.
This victory marked the fourth consecutive win for Nepal Police Club in the tournament, showcasing their dominant form on the field. For Province 2, Dipesh Das was the top scorer with 31 runs, supported by Rupesh Singh with 16 runs and Bishal Patel with 13 runs.
Lalit Rajbanshi was the standout performer for Nepal Police Club, taking 5 wickets while conceding 28 runs in 9.1 overs. Additionally, Kushal Bhurtel claimed 2 wickets, while Karan Kc, Sagar Dhakal, and Dipendra Singh Airee each took 1 wicket.
Batting first, Nepal Police Club scored 288 runs in 49.5 overs before being all out. Deependra Singh Airee and Arif Sheikh played crucial innings, with Airee scoring 63 runs off 36 balls and Arif contributing 55 runs off 54 balls. Arjun Sunar and Dilip Nath also made valuable contributions, scoring 47 and 45 runs respectively.
In response, Province 2 struggled against the bowling attack of Nepal Police Club, with Rupesh Singh taking 4 wickets, Vishal Patel claiming 3 wickets, Harishankar Sah taking 2 wickets, and Ranjit Kumar picking up 1 wicket.
