Student Organization Dispute: Trika 11 to Hold Elections on Inclusive Campus

Tribhuvan University (TU) has faced a delay in the electoral process of the Free Student Union (FSU) in its 11 constituent campuses. The election process could not move forward due to disputes between student organizations. Pashupati Adhikari, the Director of Student Welfare and Sports Department, informed that the election process could not proceed in 11 constituent campuses where disputes arose among student organizations during the nomination process.

According to the Director, out of the total 62 constituent campuses across the country, elections have been halted in 6 campuses internally, and 5 campuses externally. The internal campuses include Nepal Law Campus, Shankar Dev Campus, Public Youth Campus, Saraswati Multiple Campus, World Language Campus, and Thapathali Engineering Campus. The external campuses where the process has been halted are Siddhanath Multiple Campus in Mahendranagar, Butwal Multiple Campus, Bhairahawa Multiple Campus, Viratnagar Mahendra Morang Campus, and Ramswarup RamSagar Multiple Campus in Janakpur.

Ramesh Khatri, representing Kansai Nepal News, expressed his opinion on the matter, stating, “Even in campuses where the election process has not progressed, directions have been given to conduct elections with mutual understanding. This time, we are preparing to conduct elections in all constituent campuses.”

During the election held on Chaitra 5, 2079 BS, elections could not take place in nine constituent campuses. TU has scheduled the campaigning for the FSU election until Chaitra 2, midnight. In the campuses under TU, elections will be conducted on the same day, Chaitra 5.
