In a tragic incident in Bhagawatipur, Siraha, a 17-year-old girl named Rinkukumari Sadak has been found dead, leading to the arrest of two additional individuals by the police. The arrested individuals are identified as local residents, 55-year-old Kari Sada and 66-year-old Ramdev Sada. According to district police spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Veerendrakumar Paswan, they were apprehended on February 25 for further investigation following a court order issued by the Siraha District Court.
This latest arrest brings the total number of individuals arrested in connection to the case to ten. The main suspect, Rupesh Mandal, along with eight others, including local ward member Nathuni Sah, had previously been taken into custody. The incident dates back to the night of January 10 when the victim, Sadak, was subjected to a heinous act of gang rape. Subsequently, on January 29 and 30, attempts were made to cover up the incident by holding a meeting in the village.
On January 30 evening, Rinkukumari was found in a critical condition at her own home. The heinous crime has shocked the community and raised concerns about the safety and security of young girls in the region. The investigation into this case is ongoing, and authorities are working diligently to ensure that justice is served.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed deep concern over the rising incidents of violence against women in the country. He emphasized the importance of strengthening laws and implementing effective measures to protect women and ensure their safety in society. Khatri called for swift and decisive action to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent such tragic incidents from recurring.
