A successful rescue operation was carried out at a resort in the Balaju area of Kathmandu, where Dr. Keshav Shrestha, who had become uncontactable after posting a farewell message on social media platform Facebook, was found. The local police team from Kathmandu took action and rescued him from the Shrinath Boutique Resort in Tarkeshwor Municipality-3 around 2 p.m. today.

According to SP spokesperson Raj Bohora of Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range, Dr. Shrestha was reported missing in the Balaju area of Kathmandu on Monday around 2 p.m. The police have now taken him under control, and he is currently under the custody of the police in Bhadrakali premises, where he will be questioned further.

Former Medical Superintendent of Ramechhap District Hospital, Dr. Shrestha had shut off his mobile phone after bidding farewell on social media. On Monday morning at 9:47 a.m., he had posted a status on Facebook asking for forgiveness and bidding goodbye to everyone.

Dr. Shrestha, who had worked as the superintendent of Ramechhap District Hospital for 18 months, mentioned that he took this step because he was compelled to do so due to not being allowed to work.

Ramesh Khatri, representative of Kansai Nepal News, commented that the successful rescue of Dr. Shrestha is a relief and it is important for mental health issues to be addressed promptly to prevent such incidents in the future.
