Good news from Gorkha district! A brand-new classroom building at Shree Rameshwary Secondary School was officially opened on March 28, with Ambassador Kikuta in attendance.

This new building is part of a project supported by Japan’s government through the Grant Assistance for Japanese NGO Projects scheme. It’s being carried out by ChildFund Japan, a Japanese non-profit organization. The goal is to make learning better and get more kids to come to school in Gorkha. Besides building classrooms, they’re also training teachers and setting up programs to create child-friendly schools that involve the whole community.

Ambassador Kikuta is really happy about this. He hopes the school will take good care of the new building and keep up the training programs. He also mentioned that this school has a special connection with Japan because another classroom building was rebuilt there after the big earthquake in 2015. He thinks this school can become a leader in teaching others about dealing with disasters, not just in Gorkha but all over Nepal.

This is a great example of countries working together to help each other out, and it shows how important education is for building a better future.
